Men's jeans: straight, tapered, loose or selvedge

Choose a pair of jeans by its fit first, then by its fabric. At Selected Homme, the BEN KORI comes in a straight fit (SLM196) and a tapered fit (SLM190); the SLM220 goes for a more current loose fit. Lee brings the workwear spirit with the WEST, a regular straight, and the DAVID, a regular tapered in 13.25 oz selvedge denim. Gabba offers a straight jean in grey denim and a loose tapered in mid blue. Minimum, Tommy Jeans and Les Deux round out the edit.

Which fit should you choose?

  • Straight: the leg falls straight down; the most versatile, with a shirt as much as with a sweatshirt.
  • Tapered: narrowing towards the ankle; it slims the silhouette and shows off the shoe.
  • Loose: generous volume all the way down, to wear slightly long or with a turn-up.
  • Selvedge: dense fabric with a finished edge, woven on a shuttle loom, that fades at your own pace.

Expect roughly forty to one hundred and forty euros. For the full outfit, see our men's shirts, our jumpers and sweatshirts and our men's shoes; chinos and fabric trousers are in the men's trousers and jeans collection.
