Men's coats: the right weight for a Belgian winter

A man's coat is chosen by weight and cut. Selected Homme's wool car coat, straight and above the knee, goes from office to evening. Minimum's straight mid-length coat lengthens the silhouette over jeans or flannel trousers. KnowledgeCotton Apparel's duffle coat in recycled wool, with detachable hood, is the piece with character. For rain, the Rains Fishtail Parka and the Welter Shelter insulated parka take over when wool is not enough.

Wool or technical?

  • Wool (car coat, straight, duffle): dry warmth and a dressed look, over a knit.
  • Parka: windproof, waterproof, hooded; the pick for cycling and commuting.
  • Quilted bomber (Rains Banja Liner): light, slips under an open coat.
